Joseph Claret

Joseph
Claret was born an September 30 in Bordeaux. After have
exercissed some jobs, he became policeman at the age of 30 years. Five
years later, he discovers the paint and the music and he became to
paint. Very influenced for the colour and the abstract art, he finds
his balance in the representation in 1968. The director of the Art
College of Bordeaux encourages him in this job and the director
presents him to an art critic who incites him to expose. His first one
(exhibition) dates 1973 and it's relieved with the T.V..
In
a naive invoice, Joseph Claret paints in the oil on canvas. In search
of love and beauty, we find in his paint the symbols of these
archetypes which are represented by the cat, the woman in who
represented beauty and sweetness. The bull who expresses the strength
but alos find these recurring faces in the naive art : the musician,
the vegetable and floral luxuriance, characters of circus, walks, city
scenes, allegory.
Joseph Claret live in Villenave d'Ornon. His
work is present in various collections : in the Museum of Soulac, in
the museum of Art Naïf of Figueras in Spain and in the Museum Art Naïf
of Beraut in the Gers.
